For example of timing I find the Aztecs had set up a epoch of time as 1144 years. In this epoch of time it was broken up into 22, 52 year cycles. 13 of these 52 year cycles were called " heavens of decreasing choice" the remaining 9 "hells of increasing doom". I am very certain the word hell used by the Aztecs had nothing to do with what Western Christianity calls hell, which by the way is far removed from the meaning of this word used by the Hebrews and carried over into the Greek language we have lost its meaning and created a mythical unending torment. Which by the way the elders of Christianity never believed in if one would look into the history of this doctrine. There is nothing in all of Gods creation that reflects this thought as witness that this thought is true.
The increasing doom as seen in Indigenous eyes was never about a unending torment but one of a great change that must come . It would involve must likely suffering and changes. It is just like the medicine wheel of life starting with birth growing up and then old age and passing over into another realm. The end returning to the beginning. Yes we could say in order for new birth to come forth or new life always the way seems to be one of death a loss involved also.
According to the Aztec cycle the which an important person involved in the cycle is Quetzalcoatl who was great teacher, prophet and his story is one of deep change and also creation and dissolution. Quetzalcoatl means "Lord Of The Dawn" who battles his twin Tezxatlipoca "Dark Lord of the North". The story is that Quetzalcoatl was named according to the great calendar of the Aztecs "Ce Acatl Topilzin Quetzalcoatl " (Our Lord One Feathered Serpent) . His mother died giving birth to him, and he was then raised in the Temples of Xochicalco. It was here he learned to commune with living and spiritual beings. It is said as he grew he performed many divine deeds and taught the people divine laws, arts, building great cities and creating a context for compassionate living and relationship to the Earth.
He was tricked into drinking hikali, the milk of peyote which was used in ritual sacrifice of the followers of Tezcatlipoca, which disqualified him from being a ruler of the people. The followers of Tezcatlipoca seized control of the people in this way and this new order was one of pursuit of power glory through human sacrifice.
After this Quetzalcoatl and his followers made a pilgrimage to the "Tree of Life" in Mexico in Oaxaca. He was visited by four sages whom he told to share with there people guiding stories and rituals about the Tree and the Tree of Life. He continued on his journey to the tree and it was here that he had a vision of events to come and he wept. He spent the remaining years of his life under this great tree.
When he died he was 52 years old, or a cycle in the sacred calendar. His date a birth would have been 947 A.D and death 999A.D. His death marked the beginning of the fourth cycle of heaven, and before his death promised to return to close the 13 heavens and open the 9 hells. In 1519 Herain Cortes reached the shores of Mexico on the day one of the 52 year cycle beginning the 9 cycles of "hells of doom". This is why many believed Cortes was the return of Quetzalcoatl and great destruction did occur. Yet the fifth cycle of the the calender was to end in August 16th 1987 of which then the great cycle of 52 has already begun and we have been seeing a restoration of the Indigenous people and will continue to see great changes, as the Tree of Life, the Great Mystery Jesus Christ Himself reveals himself just a spring brings forth new life from the old.
