Doing some thinking about the talking rocks the grandfathers. They have a lot of lessons to teach and share if we can listen. Many of them around here have traveled many miles under a mile of ice and snow long ago, rolling along under tremendous pressure and weight. Did you ever wonder why you picked up a certain rock that caught your attention? Maybe it was speaking to you and you did not hear but first had to catch your eye. I think sometimes they like to to be moved and see things from another area.
Been thinking the Creator made the rocks to help us, we just don't listen. There was a group of people long ago who were guided to this large rock that became a mountain. The Great Spirit came down to the rocks and people with a great sound of thunder and lightning flashing from the thunder beings all around. The people became afraid but those rocks they just shook and danced with excitement. There was one person among the people that learned to listen to the Great Spirit and also was taught to listen to the rocks, and the Great Spirit through a bush.
The rocks wanted to tell the people about a great promise that the Great Spirit wanted to share with them that had always been the rocks instructions. This message was formed in the very heart of the fire and pressures of great desire buried deep within the earth until it could no longer be contained and erupted to spread forth through the whole earth. This was how the rocks were born and came forth. They carried the desire of a promise of how the Great Spirit would give the people his own character to learn once again to live in harmony with each other and all that the Creator had made in a good way.
Over the many years the people lost there ability to speak with the rocks but there were still a few who could. The people could not hear the rocks so the Great Spirit asked a man who could hear to come up on top of the rocks to meet Him. The rocks were sad that the people could not hear them to share there good news, and the man also was sad. But the great Spirit was very wise and told the man to get a couple of the big rocks and He would help men to see the promise formed in great desire.
The man went to ask the rocks if they would give themselves to the Great Spirit for a special way of living. Two twin rocks said they would like to to go and so the man went and presented the rocks to the Great Spirit. So the great Spirit wrote words on the rocks, and as He wrote the rocks laughed because it tickled when the Great Spirit wrote on them because the laughter and joy reflected the good news of the promise which made them laugh with joy. I think this is why rocks like to roll around in the water, and when they roll down hills they are laughing.
So the man took the rocks and the people saw what the rocks were trying to say but still could not hear them. Yet even then the people thought the rocks were trying to tell them what to do and what not to do, and so with sadness the rocks asked the Great Spirit what could be done for this great desire was locked up within them and none could hear. He told the rocks they would be misunderstood and some of them would be used by the people in a violent way by the people, which made them even sadder. But the Great Spirit said to them He would come to the people again but this time would tickle the people to make them laugh with joy as He wrote His promise instead upon the peoples heart.
